Facility Access
Access to this facility is restricted to authorized personnel only. A keycard is required to gain access through the main entrance to the facility. Additionally, cipher locks are located at the entrance to the actual barrier and at all animal room and procedure room doors. A valid individual cipher code must be entered in order to open these doors. Requests for keycard access and for a cipher code should be directed to Contract On-Site Supervisor. You must be a Principal Investigator or listed as an Animal User on an approved Animal Study Proposal (ASP) and have attended a Facility Orientation session before these requests will be granted. It is important to remember that your cipher code is only for your individual use and must not be shared with anyone. Your cipher code will be deleted immediately if someone else is discovered to be using it.
Investigators and other personnel generally may not enter the Building 6B Shared Animal Facility if another animal facility has previously been visited in the same day. If it is important to enter the 6B facility after visiting another animal facility, you must take a complete shower (including hair washing) and change into facility clothing before entering.
